Cardiovascular (CV) disease is now recognized as a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)1,2. Identifying patients with RA at a preclinical stage and/or at high risk of myocardial involvement is crucial because it may allow for the development of preventive strategies.
RMDs are highly prevalent and significantly affect activity limitations and participation restrictions. More effort is needed to improve care and research in this field.
